SUPER STAR NO 1 ACADEMY BRIEF

Super Star No 1 Academy in collaboration with Maitama Amusement Park our strategic partner, African Broadcasting Network Texas and other partners, provides children and youths in Nigeria the opportunity to participate in a unique, fun filled, high quality, affordable and life transforming experience through her unique 9 months program in Music, Performing  Arts, and  Skill Acquisition lessons that culminates with an annual SUPER STAR NO 1 TALENT SHOW.

OUR LOCATION is at Maitama Amusement Park situated at 16 Usuma Close off Usuma Street Off Gana Street, Maitama, Abuja FCT Nigeria.

OUR SPECIAL PROGRAMMES

1.   “Professional Talent Coaching”

A coaching and mentoring programme that aids young persons study themselves and discovers their unique talent through our unique guidance counselling toolkits and passion test. Life coaches guides them in career selection.

This programme offers the participants the opportunity to improve their academic performance, discover and devlop their potentials and talent, develop positive skills and healthy habits, create a sense of responsibility and confidence, teach them to reach their goals, make them aware of their possibilities, guide them and their Parents/Care-givers in career selection hereby affecting the direction of their lives.

2.   “Passion to Profession”

A capacity building programme to develop the passion and talents of students during the summer holidays, with the overall objective to promote creativity and fun in all forms and shun social vices and addiction to TV amongst young people in our society during summer long holidays.

The three weeks programme consists of a two weeks workshop in Music and performing Arts, Skill Acquisition. Voice and Instrument lessons, Arts and Craft, Speech and Performing Arts, Jewellery/bead making, soap making, Ankara Craft, slippers/ shoe making, perfume and air freshener making, cake making and decoration, Baking course, Catering course, Cocktail Drinks making, fabric flower making, event management, photography etc which culminates with a trade exhibition. Passion to Profession aids the development of young entrepreneurs.

3.   "Discover Me "

A training workshop for young people to help discover and develop their passion and talent. This programme offers the opportunity to youths in Nigeria to address the critical social challenge of increased unemployment, substance abuse and social crimes. The overall objective of this programme is to create a mindset in young people that they can become job creators by transforming their passion and talent into a profession.

The programme culminates with a project where students showcase their talents and skills.

4.   “SUPER STAR NO 1 TALENT SHOW”

A music and creative arts competition that showcases and celebrates the musical and creative arts talents of young people.

We offer group classes;

Every Saturday: 9am to 1pm at the Maitama Amusement Park.

Music classes: 9am to 11am
Professional Talent Coaching : 9am to 12noon

Arts Classes: 11am to 1pm

Games Classes: 11am to 1pm
PLEASE NOTE: vocal training and sheet music is an integral part of any music class training chosen 

We also offer one on one private class on schedule.

Academy calendar

The year is divided into three semesters and a summer camp. Each semester comprises of 12 weeks.

Placement auditions/ Registration - September

1^st Semester – September- December – 12 weeks

2^nd Semester – January -March – 12 weeks

Annual Recital – March

3^rd Semester – April – June – 12weeks

Final Auditions – June – July – 3 weeks

Graduation Concert tagged “Super Star No 1 Talent show” – July.

Summer Skill Acquisition Classes tagged “Passion to Profession” - August – 2 weeks

 For each Music and Art lessons we offer:

Level 1- Beginners Class – A 3months programme

Level 2 - Intermediate class – A 3 months Programme

Level 3 - Advanced Class – A 3 months Programme
Professional Talent Coaching - A 3 Months Programme

Music and Arts Recitals and Exhibition

A Music and Arts Recitals and Exhibition holds at the end of the second semester where students display in front of their parents/Guardian and friends, guest and dignitaries what they have learnt during the first two semesters.

Graduation Concert tagged “Super Star No 1 Talent Show”

A graduation concert is organised at the end of the calendar year for students who have completed the 9 months programme, who have successfully gone through the three levels.

We are not just like any other Music and Art Creative school, at Super Star No 1 Academy

·   We provide the opportunity in collaboration with Maitama Amusement Park our strategic partner, Africa Broadcasting Network Television Texas and other partners for the Nigerian kids, teens and adult to perform and show case their passion and talents and participate in a unique, fun filled and life changing musical, artistic and creative experience.

·         We raise job creators and superstars while having fun and changing lives.

·   We cater for the total well being of young people through our life skills lessons included in every curriculum

Our Believe

At Super Star No 1 Academy we believe:

1.    Everyone has a Superstar in him.

2.  Musical, artistic and creative activities are fundamental to the positive growth and development of kids, teens and adult and critical to a healthy and vibrant Nigerian kid, teens and adult

3.   The passion, talent and skills of young people can be transformed into successful businesses to spur entrepreneurship in the Nigerian Economy

4.    All children and youth should have the opportunity to participate in creative, musical and artistic activities regardless of economic or social barriers

5.    Individuals and organizations can support families with low income or challenges to participate in musical, artistic, creative and cultural activities as social services.

OUR POLICIES

1.   An annual student registration fee of N5,000 is required to be paid for registration forms and registration gift package which automatically qualifies all student of the academy to become Super Star club member and eligible to participate in any of our programmes, competitions or exhibition.

2.    Tuition and other fees – Payments can be made per semester or session but payment is due for the semester on the last lesson of the previous semester.

3.    Late Fee payment – A charge of additional N2,000 is incurred if tuition and other fees are not paid before the next semester as agreed.

4.    Payment can be accepted in form of cash, cheque or bank transfer.

5.    A fee of N5,000 is charged for any bounced cheque.

6.    No makeup classes for group classes

7.    A 24 hour notice to the Admin office is required for makeup classes for one on one private lessons

8.    There are no makeup classes for missed make up classes.

9.    All parents, guardian and students are not allowed to make arrangements for one on one private class directly with the instructors, all arrangements and request should be directed to the admin office to avoid any risk or penalty.

10.  All students and instructors are to be neatly and smartly dressed every Saturday and any academy event .
